Why an LED hat?

We've all been there... holding a flashlight in your teeth, trying to balance a light while you work on something. Let's face it... it's not always convienent to hold a light in your hand. Enter the LED hat!

LED Hats and Caps

Your basic LED hat has one or more LEDs mounted in the brim of the cap, pointing forward. Basic LED caps have a simple on-off switch, while more sophisticated LED hats may allow the user to switch on 2,3, or even 5 LEDs depending on what the user needs. All serve the purpose of projecting LED light from the cap to whatever the wearer is looking at... adding instant light whereever you happen to look.

LEDs ("light emitting diodes") are very small lights that operate very effeciently on battery power. Due to advances in technology, several LEDs can be easily mounted in the brim of a hat, and a lightweight switch and battery added to complete the circuit. The end result is a hat that costs just a few dollars more than a normal hat, but with a nice added feature.

So what happens if you already have a favorite hat, or you don't want the added bulk of the LED cap circuitry all the time? The perfect solution is a LED hat light that clips on. This is a device that clips on the brim of your cap, turning any hat or cap into a LED hat. The only downside is that the light is a bit more bulky and can potentially fall off.
