LED Hat Clip Light
LED Hat Clip Light Reviews
Let's face it... holding a flashlight is a pain. Clip-on LED hat lights allow you to point light where you
want it by easily attaching to your favorite hat. Unlike a headlamp, they attach by a clamp designed to grip
the brim of your hat. This makes them easy to install and positions the light near the tip of your hat,
avoiding beam obstruction.
The big advantage of a LED hat clip light compared to a regular LED hat is that you tend to get better optics,
more adjustability, and can move the LED hat clip light from one hat to another, or even use it as a stand-along
flashlight. The big disadvantage is that they are heavier and bulkier.
There are lots of different LED hat clip lights out there, read my review below to see some of the best:
The Mastervision LED hat clip light is one of the more popular LED hat clip lights. It
puts out a fair amount of light from 5 LEDs, powered by two coin cell batteries. Probably the best thing
going for this light is that it is cheap. The clip isn't the greatest, and don't expect incredible
quality. However, for the price, it's a pretty good deal.
The Cyclops LED hat light is nicer than the Mastervision, but it comes at a price.
In exchange for the higher price, expect higher build quality, a tilting mechanism which can come in very handy,
and the ability to add red LEDs. It's a nice hat clip light.
My last suggestion is a bit different. The Radians Radlight is a clip on light that can go anywhere... on your hat, on your glasses,
on a hard-hat. The are low cost, but you you trade light output for the flexibility they provide.
However, they can do the job when the other tradtional LED hat clips otherwise don't fit the bill.
