A LED hat light is a great way to always have a flashlight handy.  By mounting small LEDs in the brim of your hat, light will shine wherever you look. Since the optics and electronics are built in to the hat, they are far less bulky than a headlamp, clip-on light, or otherwise trying to use a flashlight.

A good LED hat should be well made and put out a reasonable amount of light.  Expect most hats to have up to five LEDs mounted in the brim, depending on the cost of the hat and the quality of the LEDs used.  Don't assume that a 5 LED hat is brighter than one with only 2 LEDs... quality matters here, with the best LEDs putting out several times as much light as the cheapies.

You will find a wide variety of LED hats on the market, ranging from cheap hats that barely put our usable light to really nice hats that are well made and shine brightly.

The  Pather Vision LED Hat is a great choice for a LED hat light.  It has two LEDs in the brim, but they are brighter than the cheap LEDs you find in other places.  It's a nicely made hat, not a cheap plastic model.

The Totes LED hat is another interesting LED hat option.  The hat is fairly high quality, made by Totes.  However, the LED lighting isn't quite as good as the Panther Vision.  While there are three LEDs, they are not as bright and are closely spaced.  A good choice if the LED lighting is really of secondary importance.
